I'm working on a series of crows. Probably more than one series. It's been a lot of fun with this crows. The day I took the photos was a sunny day giving me the pleasure of great light and shadows.

This painting is done entirely in pigmented wax (encaustic). It is a very interesting medium. I love the surprise I get with my paintings. Once I have painted with the wax, I then fuse it with a hot blow gun. At that point, I lose most of my control. SURPRISE!
I'm starting a new blog devoted to encaustics, please bookmark it and keep up with the updates. It is too hot (in Texas) to work in encaustic, so this fall I will be posting new paintings. Until then, I will be posting my pieces from past cool weather seasons.
