This is one of my first abstracts, painted for a friend. Sue had asked me to paint an abstract with certain colors, for a particular wall in her house. I saw it recently when visit Sue in Prosper, Texas. It has alot of pazazz and is interesting to view. This abstract started out as a painting with a horizon, but ended up being a Celebration painting. It took me a several weeks to complete this, because the canvas is so large, and I layered the paint, it took a long time to cover the canvas. I used brushes and knives on this canvas. You can see flecks of paint that appear to be confetti in this painting. The vivid colors are playful and fun. Dash Of Red by Kay Wyne - SOLD

Dash of Red was a commission for a friend in Prosper, Texas. This contemporary oil painting is on gallery wrap canvas. I was asked to create something abstract, and given certain colors to work off of. It would be placed on a plain and boring wall, so I knew that the art had to have some pizazz and energy. It took me three days to paint, which is longer than usual for me to crank out a painting. When I borrowed the painting back from the owners to photograph it, my friend said that she and her husband truly missed it on the wall. I am glad it has found the perfect home.
