Yellow Flower by Grant Schirpik

This is a 20x20 oil painting on cradled board. I discovered this flower in Santiago in a public garden. I'm not sure what type of flower it is, so feel free to let me know if you can name it. This is my second in a series of flower paintings. Thanks for looking.

Hibiscus - 5.75 x 7.75 Encaustic on Board

I have worked a little in encaustic. Because the paint has to be melted on a heated palette, the work environment gets very hot and very toxic. Therefore, living in the south, my encaustic season is limited. I'm looking forward to the fall season to arrive so I can open the studio and work on some new paintings.

In anticipation of some FABULOUS new paintings in encaustics, I have started my blog devoted to encaustics. I have also joined with a couple of fellow encaustic artists to contribute to another blog Hot Wax Paintings.
