Hibiscus Painting by Grant Schirpik
A commissioned painting that I recently completed. My third Hibiscus and probably my last for a long time. I find using red to be a challenge because it's such a powerful color and on these flowers, it's all red. I hope the buyer is pleased with it. It certainly was nice knowing the painting was sold before I started, so please feel free to commission me at any time! Just no more red flowers. Well, unless the price is right. ;-)

Charolais Columbus, TX
These Charolais cattle were part of a herd in Columbus, TX. The day was gorgeous, the light was perfect and the cattle were great models. I enjoyed the day taking pictures with good friends. When I got back to the studio I chose this picture as my second painting. I've worked the painting over and over again. NOT sure what was wrong with it, but knew there was something just not right. Thanks to Rusty Jones sending me a critique, I was able to work the things that should have been obvious. His critiques also helped me rework another painting.

01/14/12 Deux Magots,#2 by Carol Morgan
I liked the first one that I had painted in acrylic so much that I had it in my house. It was sold in November at our Open Studio Tour to some friends for their new house. I wanted to re-paint this image again. Of course, this time it was in oils and just slightly larger. I am pleased with the outcome. It might end up back in my house if it doesn't sell!
